2025 Workshops

A physical comedy workshop focused on physicality and alignment.

Why do we need jokes to make people laugh? Our body knows what is funny before the brain does and this workshop will help to wake the body up.

Crafted through many workshops on physical comedy, this workshop will make you experience the 'funny' with the body first. Open to all improvisers, artists, dancers, comedians, actors and clowns!

This workshop is great for performers who want to lead more with their bodies and shut off their brains while being present in the scene.

Create stronger, faster, more playful scenes…right from the jump.

Stop waiting for the “perfect initiation”…it doesn’t exist. In this high-energy workshop, you’ll learn to trust your first impulse.

We’ll flip the script on scene starts: the second person becomes the true initiator, boldly naming the reality and inviting the first into a shared world of play. It’s all about confident choices, playful adaptation, and scenes that pop from the very first moment.

Expect lots of scenes, real-time side coaching, and a ton of reps. You’ll leave with tools to stop overthinking, stay present, and co-create with immediacy, whether it’s a grounded slice-of-life scene or a Shakespearean fever dream.

Great for players who want to kickstart scenes with clarity, confidence, connection…and most importantly, fun.

Andy developed this workshop from training at various theatres with Improv styles to focus on playfulness and noticing the little moments. This workshop will get you out of your head, into your body, and find inspiration with character and environment.

Find uncharted fun (and therefore the funny) of a scene with the amazing power of discovery!

This workshop is great for improvisers who overthink in scenes and who want to be present with their scene partners and themselves!

Sonic Synergy

Laura Nerenberg

WHEN: May 31 from 10:00-11:30

WHERE: Arts Court, Theatre

WHO: Musicians of all levels

PRICE: $38 (two equity spots available)

Using targeted games, Laura Nerenberg will guide participants to express untapped creativity through music.

Musical improvisation deepens non-verbal communication, the ability to take turns soloing, rhythmic acuity and accompanying skills. These are vital musicianship skills that are accessed through creative play in a safe and encouraging environment. Learn to “Yes and” through music!

This workshop is open to musicians of all levels and experience. Participants will bring their own instrument, though a piano keyboard will be provided for pianists.

Please note, this is NOT like a jazz workshop—participants do not need previous improvisation experience or knowledge of chords. Participants will not learn riffs to repeat back. Instead, participants will create their own group pieces together in acts of sonic synergy.

As one former participant put it: “I loved getting to make music with other musicians! That was so fun and therapeutic. And Laura's manner and attitude. She's very empathetic and open-minded as a teacher. She made us all feel very comfortable.”

If you have any questions about this workshop, please feel free to reach out to Laura directly: laura@lauranerenberg.com
